Hi you all!
Who we are…
Somewhere, in a sleepy little town in Central Texas…
Hi! I’m The Wood Shepherd! My name is Mack McKinney, and I live with my bride Liz on a modest ranch we share with two Australian Shepherds, a bay gelding Quarter Horse and a gray Thoroughbred, and a vicious and arrogant attack cat in the fertile Hill Country of Texas. Steeped in the ranching traditions of the Old West, it is still quite common to share the main street of our little town with a John Deere.
I’m one of those strange jacks-of-all-trades, master-of-perhaps-one-or-two-of-them. My background is best described as eclectic: I’ve done drywall work, repaired all kinds of musical instruments (and excelled at violin, viola, and guitar repair,) been a draftsman/designer, implemented an entire CADD department in a civil engineering/surveying firm, worked as a marina laborer, a librarian, a bookkeeper, and am now trying to figure out what it is to be a rancher. After serving as a pastor for a decade, and a youth pastor for two decades, I have now embarked on turning one of my hobbies and passions into my vocation… I love working with wood, and I love to talk to others about woodworking!
For relaxation, I continue to serve my community as an officer in our local volunteer fire department, and our county as a First Responder EMT.

Hi, Mack,
Nice blog. I came across it while searching around the Internet.
I’m a woodworker that got my start when I inherited my grandfather’s hand tools. I recently created a tool rack which was featured in American Woodworker Magazine (Oct 2008 edition), which I thought you might like to read and link to on your site for your readers –> http://www.woodshopics.com/html/tool_rack_0.html. If you do link to it, please use the following HTML snippet:

Feel free to create a post about it on your site for your readers, as well. If you do link to it, please be sure and use the words “tool storage” as the link text (as shown above).
If you would like to link to the Woodshopics home page, please use the following snippet:

If you have any feedback on how to improve the toolrack, I would greatly appreciate it.
If you would like a link from me at http://www.woodworkingfacts.com, please let me know. I’d be happy to do it.
Happy woodworking,
David
