Introducing a new and exciting podcast, called “The Way of the Galoot.” My vision for this podcast is a discussion of hand tool woodworking, education, announcement of important new tools, and all with a focus on the unplugged.
My inspiriation for this podcast, while a growing awareness, probably began when I was a neophyte neanderthal, over 13 years ago, as I discovered a wonderful listserv that some refugees from rec.woodworking had started: the Old Tools listserv, or as we came to call it, “The Porch.”
In the future I will be assembling links to fellow Galoot’s sites & blogs, including information on how to subscribe to the Old Tools list (start with www.galootcentral.com.) Remember; this is not a site to practice snobbery (even though there is some of that, our tongues are firmly planted in our cheeks,) but this site necessarily defers to the fact that we have arrived at the I Chi of woodworking via “Tailed Apprentices” (that would be power tools to the uninitated.) Here is the podcast:
I hope you enjoy! Comments, suggestions, criticisms (be nice) can all be added below or emailed to mack@thewoodshepherd.com.
